With the recent Royal College of Psychiatrists announcement that this Autumn's CASC exam will be run online with video consultations, the Birmingham Course has decided to move our successful CASC weekend course online also! This will provide the most relevant and safe practice for the MRCPsych CASC in the context of COVID-19. The online course will be identical to our normal in person courses with actors, experienced clinicians and course material, just trainees will be able to participate while maintaining social distancing. We will use the latest video conferencing technological for a seamless experience.
The Birmingham CASC Course delivers a wealth of experience and knowledge from a team of Senior Consultants to help attendees pass their MRCPsych CASC. We have tailored our course to meet the requirements of the new format of the CASC exam. In the context of COVID-19 we know that trainees are understandably anxious about how to get the best practice for the CASC while maintaining necessary social distancing. We believe our entirely online CASC course will provide the best possible experience for the CASC exam.
This online 2-day course provides an ideal opportunity for attendees to observe and practise a total of 48 CASC stations (24 stand alone stations (history taking & examination) on Day 1 and 24 Patient Management stations on Day 2). All stations relate to the most commonly asked scenarios faced in recent MRCPsych CASC exams.
We use both professional actors and experienced senior Consultants / higher trainees to ensure that attendees receive constructive and personalised feedback on their performances. All attendees will receive printed notes for all stations tested.
